Sara Johnson Huidobro (León, Spain) performs on historical keyboard instruments (harpsichord, organ, fortepiano) at renowned international festivals - “Trigonale” (Austria), “Thüringer Bachwochen” (Germany), “Early Music Festival of the Pyrenees” (Spanien), “International Organ Festival from Famalicao” (Portugal), etc. She has offered solo- recitals as a cembalist and as an organist at Madrid’s National Auditorium of Music, Valladolid’s Auditorium “Miguel Delibes”, at several cathedrals (Salamanca, León, Astorga, Logroño, etc) and at festivals such as “Muzyka w Raju” (Poland).
From 2016 until 2017, she was a member of the European Union Baroque Orchestra (EUBO). Furthermore, she has performed with renowned soloists such as Maurice Steger, Hiro Kurosaki, Jesneka Balic and Josetxu Obregón. won several prizes, such as the 2nd Prize at the National Organ Competition “Pedro Salinas” (Burgos, Spain, 2019) and the 2nd Prize at the “Torneo Internazionale di Musica” (Turin, Italy, 2016).
Sara Johnson started her harpsichord studies at the Conservatory of León. She did her Bachelor with Prof. Silvia Márquez at the Conservatory of Aragón and her Master with Prof. Carsten Lohff at the “Hochschule für Künste Bremen”. Thereafter, she studied organ with Prof. Roland Dopfer at the “Hochschule für Künste Bremen” and did a “Keyboard Instruments’ Master” (with organ as a main instrument and fortepiano as second instrument) with Roland Dopfer und Prof. Zvi Meniker at the “Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover”.
Currently, Sara Johnson combines her activity as a concertist with her teaching as a lecturer for harpsichord and Historical Performance Practice at Kassel’s Conservatory of Music “Louis Spohr”.
