Paula Pinn is an internationally active recorder player and historical bassoonist, performing as a chamber musician, orchestral musician, and soloist in a wide range of musical settings.

She collaborates with leading ensembles and orchestras specialising in historically informed performance, including the Nederlandse Bachvereniging (NL), La Scintilla at the Zurich Opera House (CH), La Lira di Orfeo (IT), InAlto (BE), the Finnish Baroque Orchestra (FI), Arte dei Suonatori (PL), the Frankfurt Radio Symphony (DE), Concerto d’Amsterdam (NL), and the Bremer Barockorchester (DE).

Her performances have taken her to renowned festivals including the Thüringer Bachwochen, Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Musikfest Bremen, Bachfest Leipzig, Actus Humanus (PL), Trigonale Festival (AT), Gstaad Menuhin Festival (CH), and Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht (NL).

Paula performs on recorder, dulcian, Baroque bassoon, and Classical bassoon. She studied historical bassoon with Benny Aghassi at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and with Giovanni Battista Graziadio. Previously, she studied recorder with Dorothee Oberlinger at the Mozarteum University Salzburg and with Michael Form at the Bern University of the Arts. Her musical training began in the pre-college programme at the Nuremberg University of Music.

Her artistic development has been supported by scholarships from the German National Academic Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes), the Deutsche Orchesterstiftung, the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben, the Werner Richard – Dr. Carl Dörken Foundation, and the DKB Foundation. She has received several awards, including the GWK Music Advancement Award, First Prize at the Biagio Marini Competition, and the Liebenberg Audience Award.
