Sara
Johnson 

The harpsichordist and organist Sara Johnson Huidobro (León - Spain) gives concerts in renowned festivals, such as "Trigonale" (Autria), “Muzyka w Raju” (Poland), "Valletta Baroque Festival (Malta), “Thüringer Bachwochen” and Early Music Festival of the Pyrenees, to mention but a few. She has been a member of the European Union Baroque Orchestra (EUBO) 2016 2017 and has worked under the condution of Lars Ulrik Mortensen, Alfredo Bernardini and Hiro Kurosaki (among others). She has been awarded with prizes such as the 2nd prize at the “Francisco Salinas” national organ competition (Burgos, Spain), the 2nd prize at the “Torneo Internazionale di Musica” (Turin, 2016), etc.

 

Johnson has performed organ recitals at the Cathedrals of León and Astorga, at the “Arp Schnitger” organ from the St. Cyprian und Cornelius Church (Ganderkesee), the “Thomas” organ from the Neustädter Hof- und Stadtkirche (Hannover), the “Cavaillé-Coll” organ in La Merced (Burgos), etc. She has played harpsichord recitals at the “Miguel Delibes” Concert Hall (Valladolid, Spain), at the Festival “Muzyka w Raju” (Goscikowo, Poland), the “Hausmusikwoche Bremen”, etc. Moreover, she has performed with renowned soloists and orchestras: she played with cellist Josetxu Obregón at the Royal Palace of Madrid and the Real Alcázar from Sevilla, with the Theaterorchester Hildesheim at the Kaiserpfalz Goslar, with violinist Jesenka Balic at different festivals in Austria, Poland and Denmark, etc.

 

She has recorded Cds with “Concerto Ispirato” (2023), “Weser Renaissance” (2021), “Kammerensemble Konsonanz” (2017, 2018) and “Bremer Barock Consort” (2018) and was also recorded by the German radio (SWR, NDR, Deutschlandfunk Kultur).

 

Sara Johnson Huidobro studied harpsichord with Silvia Márquez at the Conservatory of Aragón in Spain and did her Master with Prof. Carsten Lohff at the “Hochschule für Künste Bremen”, where she also studied organ with Dr. Roland Dopfer. She fulfilled her organ Master with Dr. Roland Dopfer at the “Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover” and received there fortepiano lessons from Prof. Zvi Meniker.
