Sara Johnson

Sara Johnson was born in León (Spain), where she started her harpsichord studies with Delia Manzano. She did her Bachelor with Silvia Márquez at the Conservatory of Aragón (obtaining “Summa cum Laude”) and her Master at the “Hochschule für Künste Bremen” with Carsten Lohff, where she also studied organ with Roland Dopfer. She has taken lessons from Piere Hantaï, Andreas Staier, Ilton Wyuniski, etc.

 

She has won several prizes and mentions: the second prize at the “Maurizzio Pratola” international Early Music Competition (with “Cancrizans Duo”, L’Aquila, 2017) the second Prize at the “Torneo Internationale di Musica” (Turin, 2016), the Prize of the Jury and the Special Prize of the Audience in the II International Festival of Early Music from Gijón (with the Ensemble “Barrock’n’Roll”, 2013), the Special Mention at the National “Young Musicians” Competition (Murcia,Spain, 2010), etc.

 

She has been a member of the European Union Baroque Orchestra 2016-2017 and has done CD recordings with the Kammerensemble Konsonanz and the Bremer Barock Consort.

 

She has a wide international activity as a soloist and in ensembles, on the harpsichord and on the organ, performing in festivals such as the “Trigonale” (Kärnten, Austria, 2018), “ON Musikfestival” (Köln, Germany, 2018), Organ Music Festival of Astorga (Astorga, Spain, 2017), Early Music Festival of the Pyrenees (Estany Gento and Pont the Suer, Spain, 2014), etc .
