Maria Carrasco Gil began her musical education at the age of 8 in Tarazona, her hometown. She finished the Bachelor of Music Performance at the Conservatorio Superior de Música in Aragón with Juan Luis Gallego in 2012, followed by a Master in Pedagogy at the University of Zaragoza. She was introduced to the Early Music performing by the violin teacher Elsa Ferrer in Madrid, who motivated her to continue with the Studies abroad. Since 2015 she studies with Veronika Skuplik at the University of Arts in Bremen, Germany.
She attended masterclasses with Latica Honda-Rosenberg, Erez Offer, Haim Taub and Tabea Zimmermann, as well as Vera Martínez Mehner (Cuarteto Casals) and Aitor Hevia (Cuarteto Quiroga). Her interest in the early music led her to the Jeune Orchester de l'Abbey in France and to participate in several master classes with Hiro Kurosaki, François Fernandez, Enrico Onofri, Shunske Sato and Philippe Herreweghe.
She has performed with Orchestras as well as with Chamber Music Ensembles at international festivals in Italy, Scotland, France and Austria and in Concert Halls such as the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, l'Auditori in Barcelona, the Berliner Philharmonie... Nowadays she performs with Oltremontano, the Bremen Baroque Orchestra, the ensemble La Dolcezza (Veronika Skuplik) or the Ensemble Weser-Renaissance et al.
She has recorded CDs with Ensemble like Oltremontano, the Kammerensemble Konsonanz, the Bremer Barock Consort and Live Recordings for the West Deutschland Radio and the Nord Deutschland Radio.
She won the Ensemble Award in the Deutsche Musikwettbewerb 2019 and the First Prize in the XX. Biagio Marini Competition with the Ensemble Marsyas Baroque, and the Special Prize in the International Biber Competition 2019 with the Ensemble I Zefirelli.
